A memorable Scottish experience delivered by inspiresport in partnership with SOCCER.COM
Club leaders from across the United States recently joined inspiresport and SOCCER.COM for the Caledonian Circuit: a week in Scotland combining elite soccer insight, iconic sporting venues, local culture and a round of golf on one of the world’s most celebrated links courses. From Glasgow and Edinburgh to Hampden Park and Carnoustie, every stop offered a new perspective on Scotland’s sporting identity.
“Being Scottish and a lifelong Celtic fan, it was amazing to share a bit of Scotland’s sporting culture with SOCCER.COM partners and the club leaders on the trip. We have a brilliant relationship with SOCCER.COM, and the whole week was full of great experiences, from the buzz around the Old Firm Derby to playing Carnoustie, it doesn’t get much better than that.”

Inside Scotland’s soccer culture
The soccer program gave guests a close-up look at the environments, ideas and traditions shaping the Scottish game. Visits to Celtic F.C. included presentations, training observations and insight into the club’s wider business strategy, while a trip to Heart of Midlothian’s academy offered another view of player development through training sessions and academy fixtures.
A standout moment was attending the Old Firm Derby between Rangers and Celtic, an experience inspiresport was proud to provide for the group. The matchup between Glasgow’s two most successful and widely supported clubs is one of the oldest, most intense and globally recognized rivalries in soccer. Its significance reaches far beyond the field, with more than a century of sporting competition and deep roots in the city’s social and cultural history. Giving attendees the opportunity to experience that atmosphere in person made this a truly rare and memorable part of the trip.
The group also visited Hampden Park, where the Scottish FA shared its coaching philosophy before everyone took part in a practical walking soccer session at Toryglen.
“The entire experience was first class and arguably one of the best trips I have ever been on. Your professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine care for everyone in the group were exceptional. The itinerary was thoughtfully put together, and every aspect of the trip was extremely well planned and managed.”
Marco Koolman, Executive Director, Boston Bolts

Beyond the pitch
The Caledonian Circuit was about much more than soccer. A visit to Edinburgh added another side of Scotland to the program, while relaxed lunches, drinks receptions and dinners gave attendees space to swap ideas and strengthen connections away from the learning environment.
A curated whisky tasting at Glengoyne Distillery provided a distinctly Scottish experience before the tour headed east for its golfing finale.
“What made the week special was sharing it with the people we have built strong relationships with. Bringing SOCCER.COM partners and club leaders together in Scotland gave us the chance to strengthen those connections while enjoying some unforgettable experiences.”
Darran Walter, Vice President, inspiresport

A fitting finish at Carnoustie
The final full day took the group to Carnoustie Golf Links, an Open Championship venue and one of the most recognizable courses in the sport. After 18 holes, the group rounded off the experience with dinner and drinks in the clubhouse, a fitting end to a trip built around great sport and even better company.
“As our preferred travel partner, Inspiresport continues to show why they’re the best in the industry. The level of detail that went into planning this unbelievable trip for some of our top club partners was nothing short of first class. Everything from the cultural experiences to the football, whiskey and golf far surpassed what anyone could have expected. We knew this trip would be amazing, but leaving with memories that will last a lifetime, shared with a great group of people, is truly something special.”
Nic Rossi, National Accounts Manager, Soccer.com

Looking ahead
This experience showed what can happen when sport, travel and strong partnerships come together. With fresh ideas shared, new connections made and unforgettable moments enjoyed across Scotland, it was an experience that will stay with the group long after the final putt.
“Was an unbelievable trip you guys put together, and I cannot thank you enough. Carnoustie still gives me nightmares but not more than the caddie I had has about me on the front 9!”
Brendan Hamilton, ECNL Director, Select Soccer Club
