inspiresport and Girls Academy Announce Elite UK Development Trip
inspiresport is proud to continue its partnership with the Girls Academy by delivering an elite international development trip to England this August. Bringing together some of the league’s top players from across the United States, this first of its kind experience has been designed to accelerate player development through elite competition, professional coaching and unique experiences.
The Girls Academy recently unveiled their traveling squad for the International Select event, featuring some of the most talented players selected from across the league.
Throughout the week, the squad will face top academy opposition, including a fixture against Manchester City before competing in a showcase tournament against Manchester United Academy and Celtic Academy. These matches have been carefully arranged to provide the players with meaningful opportunities to test themselves against some of Europe’s leading academy talent.
With this being a crossover of several elite organizations in the women’s game, Manchester City have also welcomed the idea of their coaches and the coaches from Girls Academy networking during the trip and sharing best practices.
Designed to challenge and inspire the next generation of elite female players, the trip combines high-level competition with educational opportunities and access to some of the UK’s most iconic soccer environments.
Away from the field, the players will benefit from an immersive professional development program, including training sessions delivered at the Etihad Campus, a match analysis session led by Man City in the Club’s Media Theatre, and an exclusive workshop led by renowned coach and educator Gemma Donnelly. Donnelly has over 25 years’ experience in the women’s game developing international and professional players including several years as a First Team Manager, and more recently as a Coach Educator for the FA.
The group will also visit iconic venues including Old Trafford and Anfield, before rounding off the experience by attending the FA Community Shield between Arsenal and Manchester City at the Principality Stadium.

This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to player development, cultural learning, and providing meaningful opportunities that extend beyond the game itself.”
The Girls Academy continues to provide one of the highest standards of competition and player development in youth soccer across the United States, and this international experience represents another exciting opportunity to expose its athletes to different playing styles, professional environments and unforgettable learning experiences.
By continuing to work together, inspiresport and the Girls Academy are helping create experiences that support the long-term development of the next generation of female players, reinforcing a shared commitment to raising standards and inspiring future success both on and off the field.
