Villarreal CF – The Club
Villarreal Club de Fútbol, commonly known as Villarreal CF, is a professional soccer club based in Vila-real, a city in the province of Castellón, Spain within the Valencian Community. The club was founded in 1923 and currently plays in La Liga, the top tier of Spanish football. The club is nicknamed El Submarino Amarillo (Yellow Submarine) due to its yellow home kit.
The club’s home ground is the Estadio de la Cerámica, which has a capacity of over 23,000 spectators. Villarreal has a strong rivalry with nearby Valencia CF, with whom they contest the Valencian derby. The club has a loyal fan base and is known for its passionate supporters, who create a vibrant atmosphere at home matches.
Villarreal’s success in recent years can be attributed to a strong squad, a commitment to youth development, and a consistent focus on tactical and technical innovation. The club has a reputation for playing attractive, possession-based soccer, and has produced several talented players who have gone on to play for some of Europe’s biggest clubs. Villarreal has often been touted as an example of small yet friendly open and successful club.
The Training Facilities
José Manuel Llaneza is the training ground for the Villarreal Football Club. It is a modern, state-of-the-art facility that covers an area of 70,000 square meters and features several different pitches, training areas, and facilities.
The main pitch is a hybrid grass surface with an underground heating system, allowing the team to train year-round in optimal conditions. There are also several other grass and artificial pitches for the team to use, including a mini-stadium that can accommodate up to 2,500 spectators.
In addition to the pitches, there is also a gymnasium equipped with the latest fitness equipment, a medical center staffed by qualified professionals, and several rooms for video analysis and tactical meetings. The complex also features a residence for the players, complete with individual rooms, a common area, and a dining hall.
The José Manuel Llaneza training ground is a key factor in Villarreal’s success, as it provides the team with a world-class facility to train, develop, and prepare for their matches. The club has invested heavily in the facility to ensure that it remains at the forefront of football training and innovation.
The training complex is always open to the public and with the relaxed social atmosphere players seem to join in with the friendliness of the club and are happy to take time out for the fans.
