The City Football Academy is a Grade 1 Academy and elite training facility adjacent to the Etihad Stadium. Exclusive to inspiresport, the Manchester City FC and City Football Academy development-oriented soccer tours focus on the professional football training element, with the competitive matches still there to allow players to test out their new found skills!

As part of your visit you will be able to explore the Club’s heritage through the unique memorabilia and interactive displays, reliving the greatest moments and discovering what makes City the Club that it is today.

Take your seat in the press room, sit behind the press desk and through your own eyes, experience the feelings and emotions the Manager and First Team players feel when conducting a press conference. Visit the Players’ Lounge, get warmed up in the players warm up room and then venture into the inner sanctum of the dressing room. Head into the tunnel and walk pitch side to experience the panoramic views of this magnificent stadium.

Manchester City FC – The Club

Manchester City Football Club is a professional soccer club based in Manchester, England. The club was founded in 1880 as St. Mark’s (West Gorton) and later became Ardwick Association Football Club before being renamed Manchester City in 1894. They currently play in the Premier League and are considered one of the most successful clubs in English football history.

Manchester City’s home stadium is the Etihad Stadium, located in the east of Manchester. The stadium has a capacity of 55,000 and was opened in 2002. Prior to this, the club played at Maine Road from 1923 until 2003.

Manchester City has a large and dedicated fan base, with supporters all over the world. The club’s fans are known as the “Cityzens” and are known for their passionate support of the team. Manchester City has a strong rivalry with their local rivals, Manchester United, which is considered one of the biggest rivalries in world soccer.

Manchester City’s training ground is known as the City Football Academy (CFA), which is located in east Manchester. The CFA is a state-of-the-art facility that covers over 300,000 square meters and includes multiple soccer pitches, an indoor pitch, sports science and medical facilities, and accommodation for players and staff. It is widely regarded as one of the best training grounds in world soccer.

The academy at Manchester City has produced several talented players who have gone on to have successful careers. Some notable examples include Phil Foden, Jadon Sancho, Kelechi Iheanacho, Micah Richards and Kieran Trippier.

Manchester is often hailed the capital of the north, it’s home to over 3 million people and has a proud history in science, politics, music, arts and sport. You won’t be short of things to do in a city centre packed with unique and eclectic shops, bars, restaurants and museums, including the impressive National Football Museum, the world’s biggest and best football museum. Around 5 miles outside the city centre is The Trafford Centre, a shopping centre filled with high-street brands, restaurants and leisure facilities that attract more than 25,000 visitors per week. If you’re feeling more adventurous, Britain’s largest and widest ski slope, Chill Factor is located just across the road.

Looking to see more of the North of England whilst you’re here? Manchester is in a great location to access the beautiful Lake District National Park or Snowdonia National Park, as well as the historic Roman city of Chester and cultural city of Liverpool. All of which can be accessed within under a couple of hours.

A behind-the-scenes tour of the iconic Etihad Stadium offers an exclusive glimpse into the club’s history and facilities. You’ll stay in comfortable 3* and/or 4* hotels on a half-board basis, with a dedicated account manager ensuring everything runs smoothly throughout your international soccer tour. How Many Games are Played Each Day on an International Soccer Tour?

During a typical Manchester City youth soccer tour, we aim to schedule three friendly fixtures, with most teams playing two or three games. However, since each youth soccer tour is tailored to the specific needs of the club, the itinerary can be customized. If your club prefers to focus more on training and development during the international soccer tour, we can prioritize training sessions over matches.

Our most popular travel times for an international soccer tour typically range from Spring Break to Summer. However, we understand that each club or school has its own schedule, and tours can be booked any time of year that suits your schedule. That said, we recommend booking 9 to 12 months in advance to allow plenty of time for fundraising and preparation. If your team is ready to embark on a European soccer tour sooner, we can expedite the process. Likewise, if you need more than a year to plan, that’s not a problem either. We’re here to ensure everything aligns with your timeline.

Can Family and Supporters Join the Tour and Go On Additional Excursions?

Yes, supporters are always welcome to join international soccer tours, and are encouraged to arrange their own excursions. Please note, if you register for the supporter package through us, you are included in all tickets to professional matches and any access permitted to watch training sessions, if you make your own travel/accommodation arrangements, you are not included in our numbers. Any extra excursions will be an additional cost, and if not included in the tour price, supporters will need to arrange it on their own.

What Should You Pack for a Soccer Tour in England?

When you’re planning what to pack for your European soccer tour, make sure to include the essentials for both training and leisure time. As a general rule, consider the following items for your packing list:

What Happens if One of Your Players Gets Injured?

We strongly recommend you purchase a travel protection plan/insurance immediately to help protect you and your investment in your international soccer tour. For your convenience, we offer plans through Travelex Insurance Services. Travelex’s travel protection plans can help provide coverage for Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Emergency Medical and Emergency Evacuation/Repatriation, Trip Delay, Baggage Delay, and more, including COVID-19 coverage. PLEASE NOTE: You must purchase travel insurance through Travelex at least 21 days before the start date of the tour.

What is the Cancellation Policy?

Our cancellation policy and refund eligibility for the landed packages within our soccer travel programs to Europe are based on the following:

181 days + from departure = full refund minus deposit per person
180 to 121 days to departure = full refund minus $595 per person
120 to 90 days to departure = 50% refund of the landed package
90 to 61 days to departure = 25% refund of the landed package
60 or less days to departure = no refund.
